Note: minor changes in menus and wording may occur with each upgrade. Just read the menu carefully and select the correct item wherever it is.


  1. Load Keyboard Express with cataloging macros netlib.kex active.

  2. Load Millenium Cataloging (MilCat).

  3. Select Create Lists.

  4. Click on the Name column to alphabetize the lists.

  5. Select dv netlibrary in 092|a list.

  6. Begin with the first record.

  7. Select Edit button.

  8. If the 082 field has a long Dewey number, copy it first.

  9. Go to the 092 field and put the cursor in front (left) of the y code.

  10. Use the F5 macro. This should convert the y to a c and set up the field so the cursor is at the start of the |a subfield, followed by a |bNetLibrary.

  11. If the long Dewey number was copied, paste it now, then delete the slashes.
    Note: the length of the number here does not matter, as it will normally not be printed. Full numbers may be used.

  12. If the Dewey number was not pasted, type it in from the 082 field.

  13. The 092 line should now have a c in the leftmost column, 092, 2 blanks, the Dewey number in the first field, and |bNetLibrary after it.

  14. Move down to the 655 field and press [ENTER] to add a new line beneath it.

  15. Use the appropriate macro to built a 690 line.
  16. MacroResult
    Alt-F1d690 PROGRAM:
    Alt-0d690 PROGRAM: (HUMANITIES)
    Alt-Zd690 PROGRAM: (INTERDISCIPLINARY)
  17. Complete the 690 field with the appropriate Program designation. Add 690 fields as needed.

  18. Expand subjects as appropriate (adding subfields for Biography, Dictionaries, etc., as needed).

  19. Save the record. Ctrl-S

  20. Go to the next record. Ctrl-] right square bracket

  21. When done with a session, save the last record and exit back to the list.
